Great-looking site you're running... nice to see a clean and tastefully-designed layout.  The quality of the content is first class, too.

I'm having a problem, trying to download the IROC template and carset.  IE comes back with a message, saying it can't find the site or the file is unavailable -- try later.  I tried for a few hours, last night, and again a few minutes ago.  Currrently, I have no such problem at other sites I've visited.  Any ideas about what's causing this... ?

Edit:  OK... now I'm really stumped.  I just tried using a different computer to download the files I mentioned -- it worked fine!  The difference?  The successful computer is Windows XP-based, I was getting the failures on a W98SE machine.  I'm happy to get the download, just wondering why one
worked and the other didn't.  By the way, download speed was great on cable...

Thanks again for the great site.

Hmmm that's odd Rick. I don't have a Win98 box nearby to try it on but I will by tomorrow. Have you tried to download anything else from the site with the 98 box?

Thanks for the reply, Mike.  Yes, to your question.  I tried downloading the IROC carset and a couple of the pace truck files, as well as the IROC template.  Same message, every time.

This is a Celeron D, 2.5 Ghz., 512 MB Ram, Asrock P4I45GV board, running the onboard graphics and sound, using IE 6.0.2800.1106 in W98SE with all current updates... on a router with the XP machine, previously mentioned.  The XP machine runs the same version of IE, too.  I have never seen this sort of thing, before, and I've used both machines to download from the same site, many times... without a problem, back and forth, etc.  It's a headscratcher

Of course, if you've received no other reports of a similar nature, it could be just one of "those things" -- never to be duplicated by anyone else, ever     And I still got the files I wanted, once I tried the XP machine, so I'm OK.

Anyway, if you need more info to try to duplicate the issue, ask away; I'll try to check back sometime tomorrow night, for a new post.

No worries. I've got a 98 box in the office that I can test it out with.

Mike, when you test it, see if you notice this: on the drop-down menu for Paintshop Tools, I see five choices on the W98 machine but only four choices on my XP rig. The choice missing on XP is "Template Addons". Weird stuff... :-)

Just tested from an 98 box without any problems on the IROC carset. Did have a problem with another link but I can duplicate it with XP. I'll take a look this evening to see what's up.

Arrgghh!!! Come home, fire up my home computer and no problems downloading anything.

Rick, try clearing the temporary internet files and your cookies on your Win98 computer and trying again. It's a long shot but it's the best one I can think of at the moment. There is a new version of the module being released any day now that might fix the intermittent problem as well.

You're welcome, the comments are well-deserved.    I've been prowling around sim sites since the days when you could count 'em on one hand.  There's too many to count, now, but not all of them rise to the top, IMO.  Pretty sure I remember visiting sites in the past, and seeing some of the names involved here.  Good to see that there's a bunch of people, still turning out quality enhancements for the sim community... just because they can!  I've done a bit of painting for others, so I know how much time it can take.  To all in this group... it is greatly appreciated.

Nothing's changed by clearing cookies, etc., Mike.  The XP machine will let me download, but not the 98 rig.  FWIW, the issue with the Paintshop Tools menu, seems to be cleared up.  As posted above, I was seeing a different menu from one machine to the other... just in that one area.  Now, I'm seeing five items on both machines.  Like I said before, I've still managed to download the files with the XP machine, so it's not a big hangup for me.  But, if you're like me, you want to solve the problem anyway...    Thanks again,

Rick

GmR, is it a particular scene or all scenes in general? Can you give me a specific scene that's not downloading so that I can test it from my end as the couple I've just tried have downloaded with no problems here at work.

Well crap cause I'm not having any problems with any of the scenes I've tried. I'll try to dig further and see what I can figure out.

GmR were you trying to download the scenes on Friday morning around 11:30 AM Moutain time? I can see in the error log that the system timed out on you three times around a twenty minute period and want to double check if that's when you ran into the problem.
